Installed!
With a little help from my friends, I have installed Ubuntu on my laptop, haven't checked if Windows still work, but I'm optimistic...
Ubuntu
Tried to install Ubuntu on my laptop, it got stuck. Looked at the videos at enterprise.linux.com for help, but unfortunately they don't cover partitioning yet.

Fedora Core 6
Tried to install FC-6-x86_64 on my laptop. Early in the installation process it froze, luckily no changes were made on the hard disk. So I'm still searching for a suitable distro, I'll try Ubuntu next since I've had good experience with that before.
